No In Between Review and Giveaway!

No In Between Synopsis:
The fourth in the Inside Out erotic romance series by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, this steamy novel resolves Chris and Sarah's relationship and leads into Mark's story.

"Chris and I have faced our demons and bared our souls to one another in Paris. Now that we are back home in San Francisco, I want to believe that nothing can tear us apart. Not Ava’s accusations against me to the police, or Chris's fear that he will destroy me as he feels he did Amber. And not Mark, who was once too intimately a part of our lives, and who I can see crumbling inside out. He believes he is invincible, just as I want to believe Chris and I are invincible. We have to be invincible. We need each other too much for any other ending."

Lora's Review

I was provided an ARC of this book for an honest review. Here is that review.

Before I started this book, there was a note in the beginning that said this was part of a series but could be read as a standalone, but she recommended reading the novella My Secrets which is Chris’ POV while he and Sara were in Paris. I read the novella only and dived in to the ARC.
The novel opens with a journal entry from Sara describing her new status as engaged to Chris as well as exploring some feelings she has been having about her life compared with Rebecca. I didn’t know who Rebecca was so it was hard for me to really sink into the nove. My recommendation is that if you haven’t read the rest of the series, you should do that before picking up No In Between. I managed okay with the book, but there were several places where I wasn’t familiar with the characters enough to understand the interactions and the goings on.

Here are some notes I made for myself after the first chapter or two when I was starting to piece together the background:
·         Ava tried to kill Sara (the narrator of the story) and admitted to killing Rebecca
·         Chris is a billionaire artist who is recently engaged to Sara
·         Mark is the owner of an art gallery where Sara works – she actually took Rebecca’s job I learned later in the story.
·         Mark is a Dom and possibly owns a sex club in town
·         Chris is into BDSM as well and battles the urges for the whip as his form of punishment
Maybe those can help some of you, too.
If I put aside the fact that I didn’t know the history of the book, the writing is pretty good and the story is engaging. Even though I hadn’t read the other books, I recognized that Sara felt guilty over Rebecca disappearing even though they never actually met in real life. Sara has taken it personally that Rebecca is still missing and that it seems nothing is being done to locate her.
The story spends almost the entire book in a week’s time where they meet with their attorney, their security and the police over and over trying to get some closure on the case. But their relationship is strong throughout though they both tend to doubt things here and there, Chris says it best about ¾ through when he tells Sara,

“That’s what we do, baby. We support each other. We made that decision when we decided to get married. For Better or worse. End of subject. Okay?”

I enjoyed the story and might just have to go back and read the rest of the books to get a better idea of what the history is that brought all of these characters to the places where they are now. I give the book 3½ stars just because I felt lost here and there despite believing it was a standalone novel. Ms. Jones is an excellent author and I think if you’ve liked her other books, you just might love this one.

Room For just a little bit More by Beth Ehemann

Release Date:

August 11th

Synopsis:

Five years ago, my dreams were shattered in an instant.

One year ago, a horrible rainstorm flooded a bridge in town, leaving us with an Inn full of stranded travelers. Turns out one of those travelers would give me a whole new set of dreams, ones I never thought possible. Brody Murphy spent the last year teaching me what it was like to live, and more importantly love, again.
Two days ago, he asked me to marry him, and if I’d said yes any faster, I would have interrupted the most romantic proposal ever offered. I can’t wait to marry him and spend the rest of our lives spoiling our Twinkies.
One year from now I’ll be Mrs. Kacie Murphy, assuming everything goes nice and smooth.

 Lora's Review

Oh my gosh!! I am such a wreck after this book….in only the best way!!! I have loved Brody since he was standing in the rain in front of the Cranberry Inn in the first book, Room For You. He is so sexy and he is so sweet. He’s an athlete (which is usually a turn off for me) and he’s a stand up guy.

Kacie is a strong heroine, not one that you want to strangle. She stands up for what she believes in. She’s worked hard to get to where she is and she is a wonderful mom to her twin daughters Piper & Lucy who Brody lovingly refers to as “the Twinkies.”

The Twinkies….oh, don’t even get me started on them! They are so cute!!

Ms. Ehemann picks this story up immediately after the engagement and Kacie and Brody once again take turns sharing their POVs. I love how both the characters share with us, ,the readers, so we can really feel everything there is to be felt in this story!

It’s so hard for me to write this review without going page by page and telling you why I really, really loved it. One of my favorite scenes early in the book is when Kacie and Brody tell the girls they are getting married. Brody uses a Cinderella reference and the girls assume they are going to live in a castle. It’s so cute and I love how Kacie just lets it go, and yet she knows that Brody won’t just let it go.

Kacie and Brody both have a couple of moments of insecurity in the book, but like always, Brody says just the right thing to make all the “badness” go away. When Viper questions whether Brody is really ready to settle down, he responds immediately with: “I’m more than ready.” I sat up, looking him straight in the eye. “I want to marry that girl today, before she realizes she can do way better than me and changes her mind.” And in a rare moment of almost being human, Viper says that Brody is really deserving of Kacie and the relationship he’s in.   (((This with Viper makes me even more eager to read his book which Ms. Ehemann plans to release soon, too.)))

Their adventure to the wedding is so sweet and totally in style with Ms. Ehemann’s writing style. I love reading all about this little family, and this book really took me on the journey with them! I have read many books with weddings, but this one had tears running unchecked down my face. Brody doesn’t disappoint in the romance department and Kacie gives him the best wedding presents imaginable.

There were moments when I was laughing out loud until my side was aching. Then, I’d turn the page and my eyes would tear up with happy tears. This book really was the best one I’ve read in 2014!! I am not typically a crier and I seldom get emotional while reading, but Ms. Ehemann had me on an emotional roller coaster that I can’t wait to go on again!!

I give Room For just a little bit More FIVE stars out of 5. She did an excellent job of bringing Brody and Kacie back to the front of my mind. (And if I weren’t sure that there is no way that Brody would leave Kacie, I would almost divorce my husband.)

Cover Reveal!!!! Falling For Fate by Caisey Quinn

The second book in the Second Chance series by Caisey Quinn has a cover!

While the series is made up of standalone novels featuring different couples, it does center around a location: The Second Chance Ranch, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility owned by Trace Corbin and Gretchen Gibson from the Kylie Ryans series. Here's what Caisey had to say about the series!

Caisey: I really love writing this series because with each new novel I get a new story to build around the ranch. The overlap between characters in each book is a lot of fun for me, even though readers don't always catch them. It's almost like a hidden treasure. For instance, Fate's mom appears briefly in Van's story (Last Second Chance), but as the books are released approximately 3-4 months apart, not everyone remembers those details. It's such a treat for me knowing that they're in there!

Readers have asked if they will see Trace and Kylie in this series and they will! Trace will pop in from time to time and then towards the end of the series they'll both attend a celebratory dinner at the Ranch.

While Last Second Chance was pretty hot, with tortured soul musician Van Ransom, Falling for Fate is a bit on the sweeter side. Though y'all know me, there will still be plenty of steam! Dean and Fate have a chance encounter and then meet again unexpectedly. While they're both young professionals, having very different relationship backgrounds and experiences leaves them a bit out of their league when it comes to one another.

I am so in love with this cover because my characters meet on the beach and I asked the designer (Regina Wamba of Mae I Design) to give it an ocean water feel. She did such a wonderful job! I hope y'all like it as much as I do!

MORE ABOUT FALLING FOR FATE

Fate Buchanan just wants to escape the constraints of her old life. After checking her mother into rehab and catching her fiancé with her Maid of Honor the night before their wedding, she ran. Angry and hurt, she’s aching to do something reckless

Dean Maxwell is having one last summer of freedom before taking over his family’s multi-billion dollar medical conglomerate. When he sees a beautiful woman running down the beach alone after dark he knows it’s not safe. So he does something impulsive

When their paths cross unexpectedly after a night of unbridled passion, neither of them can forget the memory of the affair they shared. What began as one night is about to become a whole lot more

*Note: While part of the Second Chance series, this novel stands alone.

Blog Tour Stop for Unsettled and Surrounded by SC Ellington

Unsettled Synopsis:
After a horrific breakup with her longtime boyfriend, Brooklyn Caldwell is completely disenchanted with the notion of mingling with the opposite sex. Damon Williams had been everything she thought she wanted…until he wasn’t.
In an attempt to escape her heartbreaking past, Brooklyn seeks refuge in bustling Washington, D.C. where she folds into the fast-paced society unnoticed…until she meets a young entrepreneur, Logan Colton.
Brooklyn is surprised to find that while she has been successful in keeping the opposite sex at bay, somehow she is defenseless against Logan’s confidence and charm—and it doesn’t hurt that he is absurdly beautiful.
As much as Logan didn’t plan on pursuing her, he is drawn to Brooklyn’s muted beauty and her witty persona. For all his success, Logan is ensnared in the coveted world of unequivocal wealth and power, but behind closed doors is taunted by his own demons and an undeniable need to atone for a monumental mistake.
As the two embark on a tumultuous obstacle course saturated with unknown twists and turns, Brooklyn is left to question whether she can endure the journey ahead.

Wendi's Review
Let me start by saying I'm not sure if this is the first book written by Ms. Ellington, if so, well done!

This book will have you yelling, cheering and swooning! I would also like to thank the author for writing a beautifully written book with a diverse cast of characters! I love just about each one of them....(insert side eye to Damon).

We follow the life of sweet and sassy Brooklyn as she tries to recover from the worst break-up from Damon, the man she knew she was going to marry. Several years pass and she finally has let Damon go, but she has a secret that keeps her from fully letting Damon out of her heart. As she is putting it all back together, on a new coast, she has a chance encounter with the dashing and super gorgeous Logan.
Logan is every woman's dream. Wealthy, handsome, romantic and guarded. He has his own secrets that he struggles with, but tries to push them aside during his attempt to court Brooklyn. Just as they try to get closer to each other, enter Damon. Brooklyn now has to relive her past that she has worked so hard to put behind her. There are other things I could include, but I don't want to spoil this awesomeness for anyone! One thing I will say is HOLY CLIFFHANGER, Batman! The cliffhanger is totally worth the read!
A+++++! 5 out of 5 stars!!! oh Team Logan btw!!!!!!

Surrounded Synopsis:
Everything was falling into place. Even amongst all the chaos of Washington D.C., Brooklyn and Logan found each other.
Brooklyn never expected Logan...and as it always seems to happen with her...things fell apart. She has been through this before...was she strong enough to do it again?
On the outside, Logan was the epitome of wealth and confidence. Many knew his name but few knew his secrets. He never expected Brooklyn...but now she's walked away. He knew what they shared mattered to her...and she...she mattered to him more.

Wendi's Review

I must say that after I read the first book, and how it ended I wasn't sure how she was going to fix it all. I mean, huge cliffhanger! But I was pleasantly surprised that she did 'fix' it all! This story is the epitome of redemption and giving love a second chance. I love Brooklyn, but I just wanted to slap her face! She was so stubborn, but it made for good reading! And you must Love Logan, he is the guy that you want to end up with. He knew he wanted Brooklyn and nothing was going to stand in his way to keep him from her. I love how the story ended and how we got to meet Logan's and Brooklyn's families.

This is a great conclusion to the story. And it gets a big A+ or 5 Herman-ly beautiful stars!

Author Spotlight: Beth Ehemann

Today, along with the earlier cover reveal for her newest book, we are spotlighting Beth Ehemann! Have you met Beth yet? Well, I absolutely adore her and can't wait to better introduce you to her!!

Beth let me ask her a few questions and some of her answers may surprise you.

1. Did you always know you wanted to be an author?
Growing up, I actually wanted to be a children's author. I loved the idea of writing a story that would make their little brains move. As I got older and realized I was the worst drawer ever, I bailed on that dream. I had no idea it would resurrect itself in an entirely different form years later. (She also confessed that she is surprised with what she decided to write about, but she is thankful every day she went the direction she did.)

2. If you could work with any other author, who would it be and why?
One author I would LOVE to work with would be CJ Roberts, author of the Dark Duet series. I think one reason I'd love to work with CJ, other than the simple fact that the Dark Duet is my favorite series ever ever ever, is because CJ and I are such different writers. Her brain is capable of going places mine isn't and I think she would force me to push myself out of my comfort zone, which is something I definitely want to do in the near future.

3. What is one thing you can absolutely not live with out?
That's easy. Diet Coke.  (Something we have in common!)

4. Do you have a specific spot where you write, a writing cave of sorts?
I actually don't have a specific writing cave... yet. We are hoping to build in the next year and then I'm going to have the coolest cave out there. For now, I just write wherever my 4 kids aren't. (I am hoping when the cave is finished, she'll share some amazing pictures with us!)

5. Which character is your favorite to write? Do you have a muse for him?
This question is tough for me because I sincerely love them all. Each of my characters slightly resembles someone in my real life, except Viper and I would probably say he was my favorite. I wasn't even considering writing a Viper book so with him, I felt like "anything goes" and I just relaxed and had fun. Turns out, the day after the book released, I started getting e-mail after e-mail requesting a Viper book. Then my wheels started turning and he does have a story to tell after all. His book is coming later this fall. (She also admitted that her muse for Brody Murphy, the main character in her current novels, is most definitely, without a doubt,  model Justice Joslin so I am sharing a photo of him just because he's too hot not to, right?!)

6. If I (or anyone else) became a writer, what tips would you give me (or any of our followers)?
The one tip I tell people all the time when I get asked is hire professionals to help put your book together. Photographers, cover designers, formatters, editors, etc. I'm sure your aunt takes great pictures and while I'm impressed that your sister won the high school spelling bee, they're still not professionals. It'll cost you more money, but it will be SO worth it in the long run. You're attaching your name to this book, you want it to look as good as possible.

7. Do you have a favorite genre that you like to read? Do you limit yourself to just one or many?
I will typically give anything a try, though NA/ women's contemporary romance and YA are my favs.

8. What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
Becoming a mom. I have 4 kids who give me excitement and laughter every day but holy cow, some day can be just plain NUTS!!! It's also the BEST thing I've ever done.  (I love this answer because I can so totally relate! It's the craziest, best job in the world to be a mom!)
